Yesterday's storm brought more than a foot of snow that was enjoyed a little too much by some people. Someone made a wrong turn onto the ninth hole and tried to make it up the hill to the green. Luckily they did not get far and did not cause any damage.

It’s a Mystery
This morning in the darkness when I approached the first green something could be seen on the surface, but wasn’t sure what it was. As I got closer there appeared to be a white foam pile on the green in a couple of different places. After I blew this material off with water from my hose it revealed that the turf underneath was burnt and dead.
I am not sure what this material was, but there were signs that other non golfing activity took place around the green the previous night. There were empty bottles and all of the bunker rakes were in a pile, fortunately no other damage took place. Unfortunately this area appears that it will have to be re-sodded to repair the damage, we will make that decision tomorrow.

Got Lucky
Friday evening there was some vandalism on the course and we were very lucky significant damage did not occur. We had several flag sticks damaged or stolen, fireworks set off and an excavator driven on the fourth green.
Someone managed to start one of the excavators being used in the irrigation project and drive it onto the green and park it. It appears that whoever did it had some knowledge how to operate the equipment because, little damage occurred. The tread marks on the green were repaired with ball mark tools and lightly tamped to smooth them out.
